Why we built it
For years, the only way to make sure every call was answered was to pay a person to answer it. That works, and it’s expensive. Many of the businesses that need it most, a two-truck plumbing shop or a solo attorney, can’t justify it, so their calls go to voicemail and the customer calls the next name on the list.
We knew those calls well. We’d spent a long time answering them: the panicked ones at 2 a.m., the ones that sound simple and aren’t, the ones where the wrong promise causes a problem on Monday. What we learned was what to ask, when to pass a call on and what never to say.
So we put that know-how into an AI receptionist. The AI handles the answering; the protocols are what make it worth listening to.
