Three plans, the same service

A bigger plan doesn’t buy you better answering. Every plan gets the same AI receptionist, the same protocol for your industry and the same summaries. The only things that change are how many calls are included and what each extra call costs.

How much does an answering service cost?

Most answering services charge in one of three ways: per minute, per call, or a flat monthly rate with a bundle of minutes or calls. Services with people on the phone tend to cost more, because you pay for a receptionist’s time, including the time they spend on hold, transferring or writing up a message.

An AI answering service changes the math. The phone is answered the moment it rings, many calls can be handled at once, and the summary is written automatically. That’s how AIReceptionistGo can charge $0.99 for an answered call, with no monthly fee, and still answer 24/7.

When you compare quotes, look past the headline fee and check four things:

One call, three ways to bill it

A 3 min 20 sec call

Billed as 4 minutes, often rounded up
Per call bundle

  1. What unit you pay for

Minutes, calls and “unique callers” are different units. A plan with more minutes isn’t cheaper if your calls are long.

  2. What happens after hours

Some plans charge more for nights, weekends or holidays. Ours don’t.

  3. What you get after the call

    A one-line message, or a recording, a transcript and a summary.

  4. What it costs to leave

Setup fees, minimum terms and cancellation fees add up. We have none.

If you’d like the numbers side by side, the answering service cost calculator does it for you.

Which plan fits you?

Put in your own numbers: calls per month, the share you miss and what a new customer is worth. The calculator suggests a plan and shows what missed calls could be costing you. It’s an illustrative estimate based only on what you enter; not every call becomes a customer.

A quick rule of thumb: if you get fewer than 30 calls a month, start with Pay As You Go. From 30 calls, the 50-Call Plan costs less, and from 79 calls, the 100-Call Plan does. You can switch plans whenever you like.

17

years answering business phones

A lower price, the same care on every call.

We’ve spent 17 years answering real phone lines for small businesses. The AI is what lets us charge less. What it follows on every call is what those years taught us: what to ask, when a call is urgent and what should never be promised. And we review your calls every day, so nothing gets lost.

Questions owners ask about pricing

Can I try it before I commit?

There’s no free trial. What comes closest: Pay As You Go has no monthly fee, so you only pay $0.99 for each call it answers. Setup is free, there’s no contract and you can cancel anytime. You can also read sample calls before you sign up.

What counts as a call?

A call is one inbound call answered by your AI receptionist. You’re never charged by the minute: a long call counts the same as a short one. If the call is transferred to you or your team, it still counts as one call, and the time after the transfer isn’t charged. Texts sent to the caller during the call are included. Your monthly usage is visible in your dashboard at any time, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

Can I change plans?

Yes, up or down, whenever you want. Tell us and we’ll move you to the plan that fits.

Are there setup fees or hidden costs?

No. Setup is free, there’s no cancellation fee and no extra charge for nights, weekends or Spanish-speaking callers. On Pay As You Go you pay only for answered calls. On the other plans you pay the monthly fee and, if you go over the calls included, each extra call. Transfers and texts to the caller don’t cost extra.

Is it cheaper than hiring a receptionist?

Usually, yes. A receptionist is a salary that covers one shift and one call at a time. With our plans you can start with no monthly fee, and every plan covers every hour of the week, with many calls at once. The AI receptionist vs. answering service page walks through the trade-offs.
