Hear how a call sounds

A comparison table only goes so far. This is an after-hours call to a plumbing shop, answered by the AI, and the summary the owner gets right after. Press play to hear it.

  • It says it’s an AI up front, and again when the caller asks.
  • It asks what matters, in order: what’s wrong, how urgent, who and where.
  • It never promises what the owner hasn’t approved.
A small plumbing company office after closing: an empty desk with a lit desk phone, a clipboard and work gloves, and a service van outside the window.

Example call: a leaking water heater after hours, answered by the AI.

AI
Thanks for calling Copperline Plumbing. This is the shop’s AI assistant. How can I help?
Caller
Oh. Am I talking to a real person?
AI
No, I’m an AI assistant. I can take the details and get them to the on-call plumber. What’s going on?
Caller
My water heater is leaking. It’s not a flood, just a puddle that keeps growing.
AI
Okay. Is it still leaking right now?
Caller
Yes, it’s still dripping.
AI
Got it. I’m marking this urgent for the on-call plumber. Your name and address?
Caller
Megan Torres, 31 Willow Bend.
AI
Thanks, Megan. I’m sending this to the plumber now, and I’ll text you a confirmation.

What RingCentral AI Receptionist costs

From RingCentral’s AI Receptionist pricing page, checked on October 16, 2026:

Option Starting price Minutes included After that
Standalone (no RingEX needed) $49 a month 100 $0.50 a minute
Add-on for RingEX customers $39 a month 100 $0.50 a minute

Two details matter for the bill. Call time is rounded up in 30-second steps, so a call of 2 minutes 10 seconds counts as 2 minutes 30. And extra minutes can also be bought in bundles.

What RingCentral does well

  • It fits a RingCentral phone system. If your office already runs on RingEX, the add-on is the natural choice and costs less.
  • Big-company integrations. It connects to Salesforce, HubSpot and Zoho.
  • A trial. Fourteen days to test it on real calls.
  • Scale. It’s backed by a large business phone provider, and it works with any phone system.

What the minute count means for a small business

Per-minute pricing rewards short calls. Small business calls often aren’t short: a homeowner describing a leak, a new client explaining a legal matter, a tenant walking through a repair request. If your average call is 3 minutes, 50 calls use 150 minutes: $49 plus 50 extra minutes at $0.50, or $74 for the month, before rounding.

We bill by the answered call, however long it lasts. On Pay As You Go there’s no monthly fee: $0.99 per answered call. A month of 50 calls fits the 50-Call Plan at $29, and a long call costs the same as a short one. A transferred call counts as one call. How a call is counted is on pay per call answering service, and every plan is on pricing.

A receptionist that knows your trade

RingCentral built a capable product for companies of every size. We focus on small businesses, and our call protocols come from nearly two decades of running phone reception for them. When you sign up, we don’t hand you a settings page: we ask how you work and write the protocol for your industry.

It asks the questions that matter, in order. It knows which calls go to you, your team or a message. And it never quotes a price or a date you haven’t approved. You read every call afterwards: recording, transcript and summary. More on our method.

Which is right for you

Stay with RingCentral if your phones already run on RingEX, if you need its Salesforce, HubSpot or Zoho connections, or if your calls are short and fit easily in 100 minutes.

Choose AIReceptionistGo as your RingCentral alternative if you don’t want a new phone system, if your calls run long, if you need Spanish confirmed on the line, or if you’d rather pay nothing in a quiet month. You keep your current number and carrier and simply forward calls to us; see call forwarding answering service and how it works.

Questions about RingCentral AI Receptionist pricing

How much does RingCentral AI Receptionist cost?

As of October 2026, it starts at $49 a month as a standalone plan or $39 a month as an add-on for RingEX, each with 100 minutes included. Extra minutes cost $0.50 each, and call time is rounded up in 30-second increments. Both come with a 14-day trial. Check ringcentral.com for current pricing.

Do I need RingCentral’s phone system to use its AI Receptionist?

No. RingCentral sells it as a standalone plan from $49 a month that works with other phone systems, and as a cheaper add-on for RingEX customers. If you already use RingEX, the add-on is the obvious comparison; if not, compare the standalone price.

Is per-minute or per-call pricing cheaper?

It depends on call length. With short calls, 100 minutes stretch far. Once calls average 3 minutes or more, a minute-based plan runs out sooner and extra minutes add up, while a per-call price stays the same. Count last month’s calls and their average length, and price both.

Does RingCentral AI Receptionist speak Spanish?

RingCentral says its AI Receptionist handles “multiple languages” but doesn’t list them on its pricing page, so ask before you buy. AIReceptionistGo answers in English and Spanish on the same line, with no key to press. How it works is on bilingual AI receptionist.

Can I keep RingEX for my phones and forward calls to AIReceptionistGo?

Yes. Your phone system doesn’t change: you keep your RingCentral numbers and lines, and forward calls to us always, when busy or after hours. The AI answers by your protocol and you read every call afterwards. Forwarding options are on call forwarding answering service.

Start with your own calls

No new phone system is needed: you keep your number and your carrier. Click “Get started”, tell us how long your calls usually run and what callers ask for, and approve the protocol we draft before you forward the line. Other options, priced the same way, are on compare AI receptionists.
